Hi to all of you,

Thanks for the good response we had on the first newsletter.  I know that most of you still dreaming your dream to come and stay in VWD but if it  is not possible now I know you still enjoy to know what is happening in VWD.   If you want to come and visit – remember my “farm” office moved to the Barking Frog Coffee Shop – just up the road.

March 2010 started off very well and potential buyers are streaming in from all over the country!!  Thank you for your interest.  I think with the World Cup coming up and the ugly situation of safety in our country people feel like running away to a quiet place which is obvious VWD.

We had a sudden auction of one of the most beautiful houses in VWD and with good coverage in our daily news papers, hundreds of people turned up for the auction. The house went for R750 000 and the ground for R300 000.  The house needs some renovation and now belongs to a proud new owner and his family of Tamboerskloof in Cape Town.  We want to congratulate Solly and his family with an excellent buy.  We in VWD call him now the “man of the town” and they will settle in very soon.

The “Barking Frog” coffee shop is really “barking very loud”.  Visitors come from far to enjoy Sharon’s Sunday “lusty” lunches. (as quoted by a very hungry visitor – he was a reporter and it was mentioned in his article about VWD)!  For Sunday lunch you have to book a week before the time.  Contact Sharon at 084 568 7538.

Our VWD rugby team had their first league game at Lusthof Sports Farm.  Hundreds of people came to cheer for their team.  Although it was their first league game with proper SWD referee’s they had a ball of a time but unfortunately lost 23 -24.  Thank you guys for a good disciplined game.  Good luck for the next one. 

Unfortunately – no time for the “Wikkel die Boude” Walking club,  Pottery Club or  Cycling news from Lusthof Farm (website coming soon for Lusthof Sports Farm).  (Watch out for the “night ride” cycling tour coming up later this year)
